Search for Excited Quarks in ep Collisions at HERA H1 Collaboration

چکیده

A search for excited quarks is performed using the full ep data sample collected by the H1 experiment at HERA, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 475 pb. The electroweak decays of excited quarks q → qγ, q → qZ and q→qW with subsequent hadronic or leptonic decays of the W and Z bosons are considered. No evidence for first generation excited quark production is found. Mass dependent exclusion limits on q production cross sections and on the ratio f/Λ of the coupling to the compositeness scale are derived within gauge mediated models. These limits extend the excluded region compared to previous excited quark searches. Accepted by Phys. Lett. B F.D. Aaron, C. Alexa, K. Alimujiang, V. Andreev, B. Antunovic, A. Asmone, S. Resonance Searches at HERA

Inclusive production of K SK 0 S in ep collisions was studied with the ZEUS detector. Significant production of J = 2 tensor mesons and of the 0 glueball candidate f0(1710) was seen. Masses and widths were compared with previous experiments. The H1 Collaboration saw a charm pentaquark candidate in the D∗p spectrum at 3.1 GeV, which was not confirmed by a ZEUS higher statistics search. With the ...

Search for Excited Fermions in Ep Collisions at Hera *

Heavy excited electrons and neutrinos have been sought by the H1 and ZEUS experiments at HERA. For the e * (ν *) searches, 120 pb −1 (16 pb −1) of ep collision data have been analysed. No evidence for any excited lep-ton has been found, and limits on the characteristic couplings have been derived.

SEARCH FOR EXCITED FERMIONS AT HERA H1 Collaboration

We present a search for excited fermions in e+p scattering at HERA using H1 data with an integrated luminosity of 37 pb 1. All electroweak decays of excited leptons, ` ! ` ; `W; `Z0 are considered. The excited quarks are searched for in the q ! q and qW channels. The analysis considers Z0 and W hadronic decays and first generation leptonic decays. No evidence for new particle production is foun...

Events with Isolated Leptons and Missing Transverse Momentum at Hera

Events with isolated leptons and missing transverse momentum are searched for in electron– or positron–proton collisions at HERA by the H1 and ZEUS experiments. Such events may be explained within the Standard Model by W boson production, followed by leptonic decay. The analysis performed including HERA I and the recently collected data at HERA II results in clear evidence ofW production. Howev...

Particle Production at Hera ∗

Particle production has been studied in ep collisions with the H1 and ZEUS detectors at HERA. Charged particle spectra were measured in deep inelastic scattering. Predictions from Monte Carlo generators with different models of parton evolution were compared to the data. The production of the neutral strange hadrons K S and Λ 0 was measured and was used to test various fragmentation models. Nex...
